Visit the Cathedral of Guadalajara, designed by Architect Martin Cassillas. The construction was started in 1568. It was dedicated under the name of the Assumption or Our Lady to Heaven and consecrated in 1716. Our Lord Of The Waters, a statue of Christ on the cross made from corn cotton, mixed with the juice of orchid bulbs and poisonous herbs and molded like papier mache, Our Lady Of The Rose, and Saint Innocence, are some of the most important icons to see. Visit the Government Palace, with its beautiful facade in the Baroque style, built as a residence for the Spanish governor and once used as fortress. Inside you will find an impressive mural painted by Jose Clemente Orozco. Visit the Degollado Theater. Tlaquepaque means "Town Of Pottery Makers". Wealthy Spaniards lived there in large mansions from the 17th Century until independence.

This town, where the liquor Tequila is produced, is one-hour from Guadalajara. On the way there you see the Mezcal Azul Tequila Weber plantations and your guides will explain the process of planting and growing ingredients for making Tequila and describe the origins of Tequila, those families that established the first factories. You will visit one of the factories to see the Tequila-making process, and then have the opportunity to taste different types of Tequilas in the comfort of an old Hacienda.

Tlaquepaque and Tonala TourDuration - Approximately 4.5 hours

A shopping tour, as well as a journey back to Mexico's 17th and 18th Century. At Tlaquepaque, watch artisans create blown glass, papier mache, silver or leather goods, art works in wood carvings, paintings, rugs, pewter, wrought iron, or many other artcraft which can be purchased. Enjoy 5 blocks of old mansions converted into shops with lovely and charming courtyards, fountains, and flowers. Explore on the east end of the Pedestrian street and mall open terraces for restaurants and beer gardens while enjoying the music of "Mariachi" bands. Since the 5th Century, Tonala, meaning "Where The Sun Rises", an old Tonaltecan community, continues to enjoy the custom of 'Market Day' where Sundays and Thursdays you can buy all kinds of handmade products.
