Delta Vacations/NWA WorldVacations Integration

As Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines continue their merger to become the world’s largest airline, NWA WorldVacations has become Delta Vacations, effective July 6, 2009.

Be assured that any reservation with NWA WorldVacations will not change and whether you have previously traveled with either NWA WorldVacations or Delta Vacations before, or are planning your next great getaway, you have come to the right place for great service and a great vacation.

  1. How will this transition to Delta Vacations impact the NWA WorldVacations program?
  1. The core NWA WorldVacations programs will remain the same, but will be sold and marketed under the one brand name Delta Vacations. Current customers will experience the exact same booking process, products, destinations, and service levels they have come to expect from NWA WorldVacations with the new Delta Vacations.

    You will notice even more destinations, flight options, and optional tours and excursions as we build our business to support Delta’s expansive route network.

  1. What differences will I notice with Delta Vacations after July 6?
  1. The Delta Vacations program will keep the same basic components and will continue to reflect the Delta Air Lines brand. Plus, travelers will now earn up to 7,500 bonus miles in addition to credited flight miles, with the SkyMiles program with a Delta Vacations package.

  1. Are there any destinations currently offered on Delta Vacations that will no longer be available after July 6?
  1. There will be some destinations currently offered on Delta Vacations that will not be available on July 6. We are working to add these destinations as quickly as possible and plan to offer a full complement of destinations by early 2010.

  1. How do I look up an NWA WorldVacations booking made prior to July 6.
  1. You will be able to see all NWA WorldVacations reservations at deltavacations.com, your booking number will remain the same.

  1. Do I have to request new travel documents for reservations made prior to July 6?
  1. No. New Delta Vacations travel documents will automatically be issued.

  1. Which carriers will be offered on Delta Vacations?
  1. Delta Vacations will offer air service on Delta, Northwest, KLM, Air France, Alaska Air, Midwest Air, Alitalia, and their code-share partners.

  1. Which phone number do I call to book?
  1. You can still call 1-800-800-1504 for Delta Vacations.

  1. Which airline counter should I check in with at the airport?
  1. All travelers should check in at the counter of their operating carrier. Please note that in some airports, the Northwest counters have transitioned to Delta branding as part of the airline merger. In these instances, Northwest passengers should check in at the Delta counter.

  1. If hotel transfers are included with my package, how will I find the correct transfers when I arrive in my destination?
  1. Transfer signage in destinations will be representative of both NWA WorldVacations and Delta Vacations for a period of time after the transition.

    Travelers booked on NWA WorldVacations prior to July 6th but traveling after the July 6 transition date will receive updated Delta Vacations documents, which should minimize any confusion.

  1. Who should I contact if there is an issue while in my destination?
  1. Destination issues for clients traveling after July 6th will continue to be handled by our Destination Help Center, which is staffed 24 hours a day. The number is 1-800-487-0740.

  1. Who do I contact if I made my reservation before July 6th and I have a customer relations issue?
  1. All post-travel customer relations issues will continue to be serviced through the Delta Vacations Customer Relations department.

  1. Will Delta Vacations honor travel vouchers issued prior to the July 6 transition date?
  1. Yes.

  1. Will Delta Vacations honor NWA WorldVacations e-certificates and promo codes after July 6?
  1. Yes.

  1. Will I earn miles with SkyMiles?
  1. Yes, travelers will earn up to 7,500 bonus miles in addition to credited flight miles with the SkyMiles program.

  1. Will I be able to upgrade using my miles with SkyMiles?
  1. Yes, you will be able to upgrade your tickets using miles with SkyMiles. The upgrade process will be handled via our reservations department.
