The Original Open Top Sightseeing Tour provides a great way to travel around Edinburgh. The hop-on/hop-off service allows you to travel any of the tour routes and stop at any of the stops along the route. Onboard the bus is commentary in English or seven other languages.

Exchange your voucher for an actual tour ticket at time of boarding. The ticket is valid for 24 hours. Tour is approximately 60 minutes.

Main departure point is Waverly Bridge. Tour departs daily every 15-30 minutes year-round between 9:30am - 5:30pm. Tour does not operate December 25.

From Edinburgh, head north over the Forth Road Bridge, an engineering marvel, and continue through the dramatic countryside to the banks of the River Tay and the city of Perth. Then on to the Hermitage, which is perhaps the most beautiful woodland in Perthshire, if not all of Scotland. This leads to Ossians Hall, an 18th-century mirrored summerhouse overlooking a magnificent waterfall.

Continuing through beautiful highland countryside, you'll arrive at the oldest distillery in Scotland, the Glenturret, home of the Famous Grouse, the best selling whisky in Scotland. There is time for lunch in the Famous Restaurant before joining the Flight of the Grouse, an interactive tour of Scotland before the traditional distillery tour and a tasting straight from the cask.

After this unforgettable experience, the journey back begins with a drive through Gleneagles, home of the world-famous hotel and golf course. Continuing into the Kingdom of Fife, arrive in Dunfermline, burial place to many of the Kings crowned at Scone, before reaching the final photo stop of the day at the Forth Bridges and on home to Edinburgh.

From Edinburgh, head towards Stirling, catching views of the castle and The Wallace Monument. Continue towards Callander for a morning coffee stop and the chance to meet Hamish the Hairy Coo. Then northwards to the Highlands over Rannoch Moor to the Pass of Glencoe where we will stop for a photo opportunity.

After crossing Loch Leven at Ballachulish we stop for lunch in the Fort William area, then on to the Caledonian Canal, up the Great Glen to Fort Augustus on Loch Ness. Cruise on the loch for an hour or so, or enjoy this tranquil little village on the banks of Loch Ness. (Please note, this part of the tour may be subject to change due to weather conditions in the winter months.)

Back onboard the bus continue northwards along the entire length of Loch Ness, passing Urquhart Castle. Then through Drumnadrochit and to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands where we turn to head south, passing Aviemore, the Cairngorms, and the Drumochter Pass. Descending through the Forest of Atholl, we will catch a quick but magnificent view of Blair Castle, before making a stop in picturesque Pitlochry, a delightful Victorian resort town. Journeying past Perth and through the Kingdom of Fife, we will cross the Forth Road Bridge alongside the magnificent Forth Railway Bridge before arriving back in Edinburgh.

Heading south towards the Scottish Borders, we will stop at the world-famous Scots View. Then on to the town of Melrose to visit its Abbey. This Abbey is one of the four Border Abbeys founded by King David I and is also the burial place of Robert the Bruce Heart. Melrose is the site of the largest Roman camp in Scotland. The Roman Heritage Centre is one of the many things to see in this lovely Borders town.

Travel through Galashiels and north over the hills of the Southern Uplands. There will be a brief stop at Dobbies Gardens Centre for refreshments.

Rosslyn Chapel, featured in the best seller "The Da Vinci Code" and "The Hiram Key", is unique and world famous for its beautiful carvings, as well as the aura of mystery and magic that surround it. You will hear stories about Freemasonry, the Knights Templar, The Holy Grail, Gypsies, Solomon, Babylon, and even a Scotsman who was in America before Columbus—all within a 15th-century Chapel that will totally captivate you. A five-minute walk will take you to the ruins of Rosslyn Castle.

From Edinburgh, head to South Queensferry and the Forth Bridges, with a chance to take photos of two of the most remarkable bridges in the world, the Forth Rail Bridge built in 1890, and the Forth Road Bridge. Crossing the River Forth, the first stop is the magnificent Dunfermline Abbey. Continue on, passing Carnegie Hall, and travelling along the Fife coast and the charming little fishing villages of the East Neuk. Stop in Anstruther, an old Herring stronghold, where you may take the opportunity to try the best fish and chips in Scotland or have a snack at the Fisheries Museum.

Afterwards, continue on to St. Andrews, home of golf and St. Andrews University. Spend up to 2.5 hours in this historic and beautiful setting. Golfers may want to visit the grave of Young Tom Morris, the Golf Museum, the Links Course putting green, or just walk along Grannie Clark's Wynd, a public right-of-way, over the 1st and the 18th fairways of the old course.

Heading west towards Loch Lomond, we take time for a short panoramic tour Glasgow. Soon after passing the River Clyde, we stop at the banks of Loch Lomond, for a boat trip or a walk, as you wish.

Moving on to the village of Aberfoyle, the gateway to the Trossachs, where we will stop for lunch. Then, through the picturesque village of Callander, we will pass the massive 14th-century Doune Castle, which was featured in the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

Then on to Stirling to visit the castle or other nearby attractions and take in the magnificent views over the Forth Valley towards the Wallace Monument. Leaving Stirling, we pass Bannockburn, and then Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots in 1542.
