Hotel restrictions and qualification:

• To qualify for this complimentary wedding; a total of 1 room with a minimum of 3 nights hotel stay must be purchased including the wedding couple's room. A penalty of $300.00 will be charged to credit card if reservation is cancelled within 45 days of the wedding date. Government regulation and required documentation to get married in Mexico (legal civil ceremony):

• A minimum of 4 business days is needed from date of arrival in the country to compete all required paperwork and tests prior to ceremony
• Civil ceremonies are not performed on Sundays
• Couples 17 years of age and under require parental approval.
• Completed marriage application (provided at hotel)
• Valid passports
• Tourist information card (provided upon entry to Mexico)
• Certified copy of birth certificates with Apostille document attached
• Legal documentation of adoption or name change if applicable
• Original blood tests to determine blood type, HIV, and STD. Tests must be performed in the destination. Results generally take 24 hours to receive and are valid for up to 14 days. If tests are positive, the wedding cannot be performed.
• Four witnesses with valid passports. Witnesses may be provided by the hotel if you do not have witnesses traveling with you. Witnesses must arrive two business days prior to the ceremony.
• Divorced individuals must provide a certified copy of the divorce decree. If you are divorced more than once, a certified copy of each divorce decree is required. Women are not allowed to re-marry in Mexico for 300 days following their divorce. For women who have been divorced less than one year, a pregnancy test must be performed in the destination. If the test is positive, the wedding ceremony cannot be performed.
• Widowed individuals must provide a certified copy of the former spouses death certificate.
• Names on passport and birth certificate must match. If names do not match due to divorce or death, then the name on the certified copy of the birth certificate should be the name used on the tourist card upon entering Mexico. This name will also be used as the maiden name on the wedding application.
• Birth certificates, name change, adoption, divorce decree, and death

certificate all require an Apostille seal attached for use in Mexico.The Apostille seal is the official seal of the Secretary of State from the state where the document was originally issued to certify its use in a foreign country. This is not the same as a notary public stamp. The process of obtaining an Apostille is done via mail. Call your Secretary of States Notary Public to find out the mailing address and forward your

• Birth certificates, name change, adoption, divorce decree, and death certificate all require an Apostille seal attached for use in Mexico. • All documents must be translated into Spanish by an on-site translator (available at hotel)
• Additional documentation requirements if you are marrying a Mexican national citizen. The names on your Tourist Identification Card must be provided, divorce decree and passport must be the same, including spelling.
• If the bride or groom's nationality is Canadian; an Authentication Document must be attached to all birth certificates, divorce decrees, death certificates, adoption and name change documents. Please contact the Embassy of Mexico in Canada for more information prior to your ceremony.
