  Update - July 21, 2009 - the rooms project in the Dreams section has been completed as well the World Café and Desires Music Lounge are open and fully operational.

  March 02, 2009 - 40 rooms in the Dreams section of Dreams Tulum will be undergoing minor enhancements to create a personalized private multi-family and friends sections. These enhancements will be located in the closed Dreams section of the resort. Clients will experience little to no disturbance from these enhancements. The enhancements are scheduled to be completed by April 05, 2009.

  June 30, 2009 - An unexpected rain storm affected Tulum last weekend and as a result caused minor damages to the World Cafe restaurant and Desires Music Lounge. World Cafe and Desires will both be closed for approximately three weeks while the repairs from the wind and flood damages are completed. Rest assured, all repairs will be concealed and therefore not impact the Dreams Tulum experience in any way.

  In order to continue offering all of the Unlimited-Luxury®services, the World Cafe buffet will be served in the Veranda; an additional option for breakfast at El Patio; and the Desires Music Lounge will be available in the World Cafe bar.

Hotel restrictions and qualification:

• A total of five rooms in any room category with a minimum of three nights hotel stay must be purchased through our Romance program including the wedding couple's room.
• If the minimum room requirement is not met additional fees will apply for the wedding ceremony.
• Details on how to confirm the date, time, and location for your complimentary wedding will be provided to you by a Romance travel specialist after your reservation is confirmed with deposit or final payment.

Other information:

• Additional fees apply for the government required blood test, document translation fee and any registration fees. These fees will be paid direct to the service provider or hotel by the wedding couple. Details of these costs will be provided by the hotel upon confirmation of ceremony.
• Wedding guests who are not staying at Dreams Tulum are allowed to attend the wedding ceremony, but will be required to purchase a day pass which includes access to the full all-inclusive features of the hotel for the day.
• Weddings are performed Monday through Saturday only, no Sunday services.

Government regulation and required documentation to get married in Mexico (legal civil ceremony)-

• A minimum of four business days is needed from date of arrival in the country to complete all required paperwork and tests prior to ceremony
• Civil ceremonies are not performed on Sundays
• Couples 17 years of age and under require parental approval.

• Completed marriage application (provided at hotel)
• Valid passports
• Tourist information card (provided upon entry to Mexico)
• Certified copy of birth certificates
• Legal documentation of adoption or name change if applicable
• Original blood tests to determine blood type, HIV, and STD. Tests must be performed in the destination. Results generally take 24 hours to receive and are valid for up to 14 days. If tests are positive, the wedding ceremony cannot be performed.
• Four witnesses with valid passports. Witnesses may be provided by the hotel if you do not have witnesses traveling with you.
• Divorced individuals must provide a certified copy of the divorce decree. If you are divorced more than once, a certified copy of each divorce decree is required. Women are not allowed to re-marry in Mexico for 300 days following their divorce. For women who have been divorced less than one year, a pregnancy test must be performed in the destination. If the test is positive, the wedding ceremony cannot be performed.
• Widowed individuals must provide a certified copy of the former spouses death certificate.
• Names on passport and birth certificate must match. If names do not match due to divorce or death, then the name on the certified copy of the birth certificate should be the name used on the tourist card upon entering Mexico. This name will also be used as the maiden name on the wedding application.
• Birth certificates, name change, adoption, divorce decree, and death certificate all require an Apostille seal attached for use in Mexico. The Apostille seal is the official seal of the Secretary of State from the state where the document was originally issued to certify its use in a foreign country. This is not the same as a notary public stamp. The process of obtaining an Apostille is done via mail. Call your Secretary of States Notary Public to find out the mailing address and forward your documents to them with a small fee (if applicable) for processing. Once complete, the original documents will be returned to you with the seal. You do not have to do anything in person. You should plan additional time to complete this process prior to travel.
• Birth and death certificates submitted with the marriage application remain on file in Mexico and will not be returned to you.
• All documents must be translated into Spanish by an on-site translator (available at hotel)
