Government regulation and required documentation to get married in the Dominican Republic (legal civil ceremony):

• A wedding in St. Lucia requires the couple to be on the island for at least 3 business days prior (not including day of arrival,weekends or holidays) to submitting an application for license. Couple must have proof of status, which is single, divorced, or widowed.
• Must have all original documents.
• If divorced, final divorce decree must be stamped by the courts.
• If never previously married or have had a name change, then birth certificate is not required, only valid passports are required.
• Completed marriage application (provided at hotel)
• Couples 17 years of age and under require parental approval.
• Names on passport and birth certificate must match. This name will also be used as the maiden name on the wedding application.

• All foreign language documents must be legally translated to English and submitted with original language documents.
