Insurance Coverage
No Insurance is provided with the rental of a Hertz car in the EXCL-MLTE category. Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection are included with INCL-MLTI. Personal Accident Insurance with medical expense and accidental death benefits and other options are available to purchase at time of rental and are payable directly to Hertz. IMPORTANT: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) may vary by car class and country. This option relieves a customer from some of the responsibility for loss of or damage to the rental car, unless it results from use as prohibited by the rental agreement. Countries may impose a mandatory deductible of up to several hundred U.S. dollars (non waivable excess). If CDW Insurance is accepted but the car is damaged, renter will still be responsible for this amount. Super CDW Insurance may be available upon rental to offset all or part of this mandatory deductible payable directly to Hertz. Super CDW does not apply in case of theft, broken windows, or vandalism and can only be purchased at time of pick-up in all Hertz locations. Super CDW is not available for customers when the renting driver is less than 25 years of age. If you choose to rely on your United States car insurance or insurance offered through your credit card, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any coverage provided before you decline any optional services. You could be responsible for the full cost of the vehicle.
